Primal Technologies announced today that the Primal Open Services Platform (OSP) is commercially deployed with RINA Cellular providing Apple Visual Voice Mail. Primal Technologies’ OSP allows wireless carriers to leverage the OSP to offer all valued added applications with one system.
“Service providers are continually interested in seeing the most benefit on their capital investments. Along with many of Primal Technologies customers who have become references, we are pleased to be working with RINA where we have deployed our Apple Visual Voice Mail, complete with a comprehensive set of service features offering carrier-grade reliability, seamless migration, and a system that was installed cost effectively with minimal IT integration,” said Stephen Lehr, Director of Sales at Primal Technologies. “We look forward to a continued relationship with RINA for the many years to follow,” he continued. “We look forward to a continued relationship with Limitless Mobile for the many years to follow,” he continued.
Primal’ Open Services Platform (OSP) with its many applications can be connected to the SS7/TDM network and VoIP/SIP/IMS networks simultaneously. Other applications supported on the OSP include Advance Pay/Prepaid Service and other Value Added Services including SMSC, MMS Server, USSD, and RADIUS or Diameter Data Charging. Once connected to the IP network, subscribers can update their Unified VM settings and profiles from anywhere in the world via the WWW and choose to receive their voice and fax messages by email. Primal OSPs can scale from 50,000 to over a million subscribers allowing wireless, landline and cable operators to customize their solution for their subscriber base. With Oracle cloud technology, Primal software can even scale without limits.
To administer, control and monitor the OSP the service provider utilizes Primal Skylight. “Primal Skylight easily exceeds telecom expectations for a simple, highly-focused turnkey solution to control, monitor and report on Unified VM and our other enhanced services like the SMSC, Prepaid, MMS and OTA. With Primal Skylight, service providers will have a wide selection of support and operational features that are administered by Engineering, Customer Service, and Marketing,” said Parker Stagg, Senior Developer at Primal Technologies.

About RINA
RINA (Rural Independent Network Alliance) provides wireless switching services to multiple rural wireless CDMA carriers. While switching is shared between the partners, each company owns and manages their respective cellular sites, and markets their plans and services under their own, individual company name. In addition to switching voice services, RINA is providing the opportunity for all switching partners to offer their customers services that they could not offer independently, i.e., data and multimedia services.
RINA Telephone was incorporated under Wyoming law on January 28, 1914. The name came from the merging of the Smith's Fork Mutual Line, the Black's Fork Telephone Line and the Lonetree-Linwood Telephone Company. The company began operations serving grounded rural lines on a home made switch that used 30/40 and 30/30 Winchester rifle cartridges as plugs and jacks. In 1979, RINA installed one of the first two digital switches in the state of Wyoming. This switch presently resides in the Central Office in Mountain View, WY.
In July of 1990, RINA Telephone began its cellular division under the name of RINA Cellular with eight cell sites. Today, RINA Cellular covers over 123,500 square miles, encompassing the state of Wyoming, northwestern Colorado and parts of Utah.
