Primal Technologies announced today that their NFV Prepaid/OCS is operational on Amazon web Services (AWS) and commercially available to mobile and landline network operators worldwide. Primal Prepaid/OCS is following the lead of other Primal Services including SMSC/IP-SM-GW and Voicemail/Visual VM, which have been available on AWS for a few years and currently serving many mobile and land network operators. Utilizing AWS eliminates the carrier's requirement to host and maintain NFV technology on their own premises.
“Service providers are continually interested in reducing capital expenditures, which we have achieved by successfully migrating a majority of our customers onto their NFV Private cloud over the past few years. We are pleased to be also working with AWS, where we have deployed our Prepaid/OCS Service complete with a comprehensive set of features offering carrier-grade reliability, seamless migration, and a system that meets this challenge in 2022 and beyond," said Michael Conway, Vice President at Primal Technologies. “We also look forward to a continue to add even more services onto the AWS Cloud for operators.”
The Primal Open Services Environment (OSE) with its many Telecom/IT Services is interconnected with the Operator's IT and Core Network via SIGTRAN, DIAMETER, REST, HTTP/2, and SIP/RTP interfaces simultaneously from the AWS cloud. Once connected to the network, wireless subscribers can top-up and manage their account subscriptions from anywhere in the world via the WWW. The Primal OSE can also be scaled from 10,000 to 1 Million+ subscribers.
Primal WWW Skynet Screens allow the Service Provider's Customer Care personnel to provision and manage subscribers through an intuitive set of screens for Prepaid/OCS subscriptions but also Primal SMSC/IP-SM-GW and Voicemail/Visual VM subscriptions as required. “Primal Skynet easily exceeds an Operator's expectations for a simple, highly-focused turnkey solution for Subscriber Provisioning, Customer Service Management, and Service administration, monitoring, alarming and reporting for a broad range of services including Prepaid/OCS, Custom Timed Services, Promotions, SMSC, IP-SM-GW, MMS, EIR, and Call Recording Service. With Primal Skynet, Engineering, Customer Service, and Marketing can quickly access the data that is important to them,” said Parker Stagg, Senior Developer at Primal Technologies.

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) is a subsidiary of Amazon that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis. These cloud computing web services provide distributed computing processing capacity and software tools via AWS server farms. One of these services is Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), which allows users to have at their disposal a virtual cluster of computers, available all the time, through the Internet. AWS's virtual computers emulate most of the attributes of a real computer, including hardware central processing units (CPUs) and graphics processing units (GPUs) for processing; local/RAM memory; hard-disk/SSD storage; a choice of operating systems; networking; and pre-loaded application software such as web servers, databases, and customer relationship management (CRM).
