Primal Technologies Signs CityWest
for Over the Air Activation (OTA) and SMS
TORONTO, April 16, 2007 — Primal Technologies Inc., (www.primaltech.com) of Mississauga,
a provider of enhanced services applications for wireless, landline and
cable companies, has signed CityWest for Over-The-Air activation and SMS.
Primal Technologies OTA is allowing wireless service providers to update
Mobile Numbers, Roaming Partners, and in the future Data Settings without
impacting the subscriber. Wireless service providers today are faced
with creating more efficient distribution channels, increasing customer
satisfaction, while also improving margin and profitability. Industry
trends are pushing the sale of handsets further into the retail channel.
The cost and effort of provisioning handsets, activating users, and
updating handset parameters can be greatly reduced by using Over-The-Air
activation (OTA) mechanisms.

OTA. It was an elegant solution evolution to the OSP, which has been
operating in the telecom industry for ten years", says vice president
Michael Conway. The OSP with its many applications is connected as an
IN platform communicating via IP and SS7 to many switches in the industry. Applications supported on the OSP include Voice Mail, Prepaid, Unified Messaging and SMS/MMS. Once connected to the IP/SS7 network, subscribers can get their OSP features from anywhere in the world via IP.
