Primal Technologies Deploys IP-OSP
For A Major Canadian Cable Operator
Mississauga, March 23 2005 — Primal Technologies Inc. (
www.primaltech.com) of Mississsauga, a provider of enhanced services
applications for wireless, landline and cable companies has successfully
installed the IP-OSP (Open Services Platform) to initially provide Voice
Mail for Cogeco Cable residential digital telephony service.
With VoIP Voice Mail, Primal Technologies is providing the ideal solution
to the cable industry for 2005. “ We are excited in offering the OSP to
the IP industry. As promised to all our customers it was an elegant
solution evolution to the OSP that has been operating in the telecom
industry for seven years”, says vice president Michael Conway.
The OSP with its many applications is connected as an Application Server
communicating via IP to many soft switches in the industry. Applications
supported on the OSP include Voice Mail, Prepaid, Unified Messaging,
and Conferencing. Once connected to the IP network, subscribers can get
their voice messages from anywhere in the world via IP. "This is very
exciting for Service Providers who are now offering service outside
their traditional wire center".
A secondary benefit that Primal Technologies customers are seeing
is that subscribers are provisioning their services themselves which
is greatly reducing the impact on the service provider’s Customer
Service team. "In these challenging economic telecom times where costs
are being reduced we see this value added feature as an extra bonus to
carriers because subscribers are reacting positively to self
administering their account".
