Supporting CAMEL Phase 2 Prepaid on IN PSN


Mississauga, August 1, 2004 - Primal Technologies Inc., ( www.primaltech.com) of Mississauga announced that its Intelligent Network (IN) Primal Service Node has been deployed in the US GSM network supporting CAMEL Phase 2 for prepaid mobile termination and origination.

"CAMEL Phase 2 Prepaid is the evolution of Prepaid for carriers and makes deployment simple and very powerful" says Michael Conway, vice president of Primal Technologies. With a scalable pair of redundant NEBS compliant Primal Service Nodes, carriers are able to support their subscribers with a 100% turnkey Prepaid service. "Deployments are elegant and extremely efficient and with Primal Skylight, IT integration is minimized with the PSN providing customer management, voucher management and rich reporting".

The hardware chassis for the Primal Service Node is offered in six major models. The selection requirements are based on: interconnect type, number of ports, and disk storage. Primal's modular architecture allows PSN applications to inter-operate with the many different trunk and signaling interfaces that exist today. These interfaces include: TCAP, ISUP, MF, PRI, and VoIP. The PSN operates within an Intranet or Internet environment allowing the support team and service operator (based on security levels) to access the system for system monitoring. The PSN’s scaleable architecture allows for growth in the number of voice interface cards, the number of CPUs and the amount of storage required.

To control the Primal Service Node is the showcase software Primal Skylight. Primal Skylight is the Operation and Marketing tool that provides real-time status of the Primal Service Node (PSN). Primal Skylight is connected to the Primal Service Node via an VPN or Intranet connection. Primal Skylight provides real-time data on; PSN Usage, Customer Balance, Revenue Generation and System Status on a Continuous, Hourly or Daily basis. Real-time Call Detail Records can also be reviewed to assist in trouble-shooting billing related issues. Primal Skylight easily exceeds telecom expectations for a simple, highly focused, low CPU usage tool to track mission critical applications on the PSN. Skylight operates on any standard desktop and requires no special hardware or software.
