Primal Applications
Primal Technologies has developed many applications on the Primal
Service Node over the past 5 years. These applications include;
Voice Mail, IN Prepaid, Primal Messenger, Personal Operator,
Conferencing and Voice Response. All applications can operate
simultaneously on the OSP with restrictions dependent on traffic
engineering in and out of the service node. Presently the OSPs
have been designed to support up to 500,000 customers and 10,000
hours of voice messages depending on T1s/E1s and disk storage.
Voice Mail has been developed to emulate many DTMF schemes including
Nortel, Lucent, and Glenayre. Primal Messenger provides Unified
Messaging enhancements to Voice Mail with some features including;
subscriber call control of inbound calls and emailing voice messages
to your email address book. With and without Primal Messenger
customers can establish 3 to 32 people Conference calls with no
Operator intervention.
One of the major strengths of the OSP is the rating engine that has
been developed on the OSP. The domestic and international rating
engine of the OSP with detailed CDRs allows the service provider
the capability to rate and bill the customer for applications on a
monthly or per transaction basis. Many Service Nodes in the industry
do not have this capability for a complete turnkey solution and
therefor have to depend on external integration development to their
non real-time billing/provisioning system. The Primal rating engine
has been used by many wireless companies offering wireless prepaid
service.
